CLINICAL PRACTICE TRAINING PROGRAM FOR NEWLY GRADUATED NURSES AT FV HOSPITAL

FV Hospital provide a 6-month Clinical Practice Training Program for Newly Graduated Nurses to equip new nurses with patient care skills, and gradually build their professional confidence, enhancing patient safety in healthcare services. It is including 5 months of general medical examination and treatment practice and 1 month of emergency & intensive care practice.

The programme consists of 26 lessons (topics) covered over 960 sections. Our programme focuses on basic nursing skills, legal regulations related to medical examination and treatment, professional ethics, patient safety, and communication skills for healthcare practitioners.

The program is structured around a competency-based approach, aligned with the Basic Standards for Vietnamese Nurses, covering three key areas:

  1. Knowledge
  • Understand and explain the nursing process.
  • Present regulations for managing and utilizing resources for patient care.
  • Identify preventive standards in patient care and safety measures.
  • Recognize risky behaviors and ensure patient safety.
  • Assess the need for health counseling and education for patients and families.
  • Understand legal regulations related to nursing practice in hospitals.
  1. Skill
  • Apply the nursing process and evidence-based practices in patient care.
  • Perform basic nursing techniques with safety and efficiency.
  • Detect and respond to abnormal conditions such as shock or cardiac arrest, and work effectively with the medical team in emergencies.
  • Follow hospital infection control procedures and patient safety regulations.
  • Communicate professionally with patients, families, and healthcare team members, including handling special patient needs (e.g., unconscious, psychiatric, hearing/visually impaired).
  • Maintain accurate medical records and operate specialized equipment safely.
  • Collaborate within teams and use information technology effectively in patient care.
  1. Attitude
  • Demonstrate positive thinking and professionalism in patient care.
  • Understand the role of nurses in patient advocacy and protection.
  • Adhere to the Ministry of Health’s guidelines and professional ethics.
  • Commit to continuous learning and personal development.
  • Display qualities such as diligence, honesty, respect, and cooperation while ensuring patient safety
