Effectively managing these complications requires collaboration among various specialties, including Internal Medicine, Paediatrics & Neonatology, Bone & Joint Centre and Dietetics & Nutrition. The seminar will emphasize the importance of a multidisciplinary approach to provide comprehensive care for patients.
In observance of World Diabetes Day, FV Hospital will hold a CME Medical Seminar titled “Multispecialty Approach In The Treatment Of Diabetes & Diabetic Complications” on November 14, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 3:30 PM at FV’s Auditorium, 3rd Floor, F Building, FV Hospital. The seminar aims to deliver updated insights on the latest guidelines and treatment methods, emphasising the critical role of a multidisciplinary approach in managing diabetes and related complications.

Dr Nguyen Huu Man, Specialist Level I – Internal Medicine Department, FV Hospital
Dr Nguyen Huu Man, Specialist Level I, graduated from Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy in 1991. He further advanced his expertise at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Ho Chi Minh City, specializing in Endocrinology from 2001 to 2003. Dr Man is an experienced specialist in endocrinology, focusing on the treatment of diabetes and thyroid diseases.
Dr Man began his career at Cho Ray Hospital, where he served as a senior physician in the Dialysis Unit from 1993 to 1996. He further developed his expertise in endocrinology at the Ho Chi Minh City Nutrition Centre in 2004. This diverse background has equipped Dr Man with a solid foundation of knowledge and refined clinical skills to address complex patient needs.
Since 2004, Dr Nguyen Huu Man has been a senior doctor in the Endocrinology & Diabetology Unit within the Internal Medicine Department at FV Hospital. With over 20 years’ experience in treating diabetes and thyroid diseases, Dr Man is committed to applying the latest treatment methods to achieve optimal outcomes for his patients. Specialist Level II, Chau Thi Kim Lien, MD, MSc – Internal Medicine Department, FV Hospital
Specialist Level II, Chau Thi Kim Lien, MD, MSc is a nephrology specialist with over 30 years of experience treating chronic and complex kidney diseases, including lupus nephritis, diabetic kidney disease, and hypertensive kidney disease. A graduate from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Ho Chi Minh City, Dr Lien has advanced her expertise through high-level certifications, including a Master’s in Medicine and a Specialist Level II certification in General Internal Medicine. She has made significant contributions to the field of nephrology at FV Hospital, providing high-quality and reliable care to patients.
Dr Lien previously worked at Cho Ray Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City from 1987 to 2007, serving as Deputy Head of the Kidney Department from 2007 to 2008 and then as Head of the Kidney Department from 2009 to 2018. Since 2018, she has been part of the Internal Medicine Department at FV Hospital, specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of lupus nephritis, with a focus on managing complications and improving patients’ quality of life. She also provides care for hypertensive kidney disease, with a focus on preventing complications and reducing the risk of kidney failure.
Dr Chau Thi Kim Lien views patient care as a long journey that requires dedication and responsibility. She is committed to providing each patient with the highest level of care and expertise, supporting them in achieving an improved quality of life, even when managing chronic conditions.

Specialist Level II, Nguyen Viet Quynh Thu, MD, MSc, graduated as a General Doctor from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy at Ho Chi Minh City in 1999. Following that, Dr Quynh Thu received a Specialisation Degree Level I in Internal Medicine in 2007 and a Specialisation Degree Level II in Internal Medicine in 2011 from Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy. She received a Master’s degree in Nutrition from Women’s University of Japan in 2008 and a Diploma in Clinical Nutrition and Metabolism of ESPEN in 2019. Doctor Quynh Thu has also participated in many specialised training courses domestically and abroad such as the Total Nutrition Therapy in Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Indonesia; Advanced Clinical Nutrition, and Nutrition Support Team in Japan and LLL ESPEN courses held in Denmark, Poland, Spain, Philippines and Vietnam.
Dr Quynh Thu has more than 15 years of experience in the ¬eld of Clinical Nutrition in medical treatment; specially, she was the Head of the Nutrition Department of Nguyen Tri Phuong Hospital and has been managing the Nutrition Department for over 10 years. Besides, Doctor Quynh Thu also participated in examination and treatment at some important specialties such as Gastroenterology (2000 – 2005), Endocrinology (2005 – 2006) and Endocrinology (2006 – 2015) at Nguyen Tri Phuong Hospital. Doctor Quynh Thu has officially worked at FV Hospital since February 2016, as the only Senior Treatment Doctor, Department of Clinical Nutrition. Then, Doctor Quynh Thu held the position of Head of Nutrition & Dietetics Unit, FV Hospital from 2017 to 2021 and from May 2021, Doctor Nguyen Viet Quynh Thu was officially appointed as Head of Nutrition and Dietetics Department at FV Hospital. Currently, Doctor Quynh Thu also holds the position of Vice President of the Vietnam Dietetics Association (VDA).
In addition to professional work at the department, Dr Thu regularly organises and teaches clinical nutrition training classes for medical staff, participates in setting up nutritional treatment forms and protocols in the hospital. Dr Quynh Thu also actively communicates and educates on nutrition through patient and community clubs, participates in television programs on nutrition counselling, writes articles on nutrition topics.

Specialist Level I, Dr Nguyen Thi Thu Huong, MD, MSc graduated from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Ho Chi Minh City in 2010, then earned her Master’s degree in Internal Medicine in 2014, along with her Specialist I qualification in Endocrinology. She also completed a residency in Endocrinology at the same institution. In 2017, Dr Thu Huong expanded her skills with advanced training in basic electrocardiography, clinical applications, and paediatric endocrinology and metabolism.
With over 10 years of experience in the field of endocrinology, Dr Thu Huong is recognized for her high expertise in treating conditions such as diabetes, disorders of the reproductive glands, thyroid disorders, adrenal gland issues, and pituitary gland disorders. Additionally, Dr Thu Huong has a particular interest in paediatric endocrinology, focusing on diagnosing and treating growth hormone (GH) deficiency. Her dedication and expertise have led to successful outcomes and earned her the trust and appreciation of her patients.
Since June 2021, Dr Thu Huong has been a valued member of FV Hospital’s Internal Medicine team. Prior to this, she served in the Internal Medicine Department at Nguyen Tri Phuong Hospital (2014 – 2019), where she held dual roles as Deputy Director of Internal Medicine and Head of General Internal Medicine at Duc Khang Hospital (2019–2021).

Tran Trieu Phuong Dong, MD, MSc – Paediatrics & Neonatology Department, FV Hospital
Dr Tran Trieu Phuong Dong, MD, MSc is an experienced Paediatrics and Neonatology specialist with a focus on paediatric endocrine disorders. He graduated from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Ho Chi Minh City in 2003 and went on to obtain a Master’s degree in Public Health in Taiwan in 2011. With over 20 years of experience, Dr Dong has effectively managed numerous complex cases involving paediatric diabetes and congenital adrenal hyperplasia.
Dr Dong began his career at Children’s Hospital 2 in Ho Chi Minh City, where he worked for approximately 11 years (2004 – 2015). Since 2016, he has been a dedicated member of the Paediatrics & Neonatology Department at FV Hospital.
Specialising in the diagnosis and treatment of endocrine disorders in children, Dr Dong focuses on metabolic and reproductive endocrine issues. He applies advanced, age-specific treatment strategies for paediatric diabetes and is highly skilled in managing congenital adrenal hyperplasia, optimising care for children with this condition.

Dr Truong Hoang Vinh Khiem, a Specialist Level II is a specialist in Orthopaedics, bringing over a decade of experience in treating and performing surgeries for joint disorders, sports injuries, and degenerative joint conditions. A graduate from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Ho Chi Minh City in 2010, Dr Kiem further specialized with Specialist Level 1 training at Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine. His commitment to advancing his skills has led him to complete specialized training in arthroscopic knee surgery and microsurgery, enabling him to offer the latest and most effective treatments for his patients.
Dr Truong Hoang Vinh Khiem has held orthopaedic positions at Gia Dinh Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City (2014 – 2015) and Hong Duc Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City (2014 – 2015). He has been a key member of the Bone & Joint Centre at FV Hospital since August 2015.
Specializing in arthritis and joint injuries from rheumatic conditions, Dr Khiem is skilled in diagnosing and treating degenerative joint diseases with advanced techniques that reduce pain and improve mobility. He also performs surgeries and guides rehabilitation for sports-related injuries, with a particular focus on arthroscopic knee surgery and related joint treatments.
