SERVICES & TREATMENTS

Aesthetic Laser Consultation

At FV Laser & Skin Clinic, we understand that cosmetic enhancement is a significant decision for many of our patients. That’s why we take the time to talk you through your options, clearly and honestly, explaining what is involved in your upcoming treatment. We provide a consistently high level of care and support from your first enquiry through to post-treatment.

First, your skin will be analysed using the Visia Complexion Analysis system. Then, you will have a consultation with our laser expert. She will ask you about how your skin concern affects you, your medical history and if you’ve had any previous treatments. She will tailor an individual treatment plan for you and will explain how many treatment sessions are required, the results you can expect, the precautions to take and answer all questions you may have.

Dermatology Consultation

Patients with certain skin conditions will first see one of our dermatologists who will decide if they are good candidates for laser therapy and will refer them to our laser experts who are all fully qualified dermatologists

Laser resurfacing

This is designed to remove the superficial wrinkles around the eyes, lips, forehead and cheeks seen in aging skin. Facial scars and sun-damaged skin are also excellent candidates for this treatment

Skin tightening, Skin tightening and toning

Laser skin tightening is a minimally invasive, non-surgical process that uses a laser to tighten skin by heating the collagen under the skin’s surface, causing the skin to contract (tighten). Facial skin tightening is noticeable immediately after the treatment, and there is no downtime, making this an increasingly popular procedure. Additional skin tightening occurs over the next few months, but optimal results usually require two or three treatments about a month apart. Lasers can treat loose skin on the face, neck (and chin), décolletage, stomach, thighs, and basically anywhere else on the body you want to improve.

Laser treatment of wrinkles and sagging skin

Collagen provides the support network in our skin. It is what is responsible for giving skin elasticity. As we age, collagen breaks down, resulting in wrinkles and sagging skin. In order to slow down the process of aging, the laser technology is recommended to stimulate collagen production, slow down skin aging and reduce signs of wrinkles.

Non-surgical laser face lifting

The Fotona 4D Laser Facelift is a revolutionary non-surgical procedure to address skin laxity, lines, wrinkles, loss of volume, and uneven tone & texture on the face.

The 4D treatment strengthens collagen and immediately lifts by collagen contraction. New Collagen production is also stimulated, resulting in tightness and increased elasticity of your skin. The synergistic laser treatments treat both the exterior of the face as well as the interior oral cavity to produce results from both inside and out. The procedure provides both immediate and ongoing results.

Lasers are a simple, fast, effective and safe tool for removing a wide variety of benign pigmented lesions, such as melasma, freckles (also called ephelides), age spots (also called brown spots or lentigo), birthmarks, Café-au-lait macules (CALMs), moles (nevus) and more.

Uneven skin tone laser treatment

Uneven skin tone can be caused by hyperpigmentation, the result of too much melanin being produced by the body and this can lead to a darkening of the skin in patches. It may also be caused by hypopigmentation, which leads to a loss of skin colour and is caused by too little melanin being produced. Both conditions can be the result of sun damage, hormonal changes (during pregnancy for example) or as a side effect of medication or illness. Uneven skin tone laser treatment will help you achieve the confidence that comes with having flawless skin

Skin Hyperpigmentation

Caused by an injury to the skin, scars are a natural part of the body’s healing process. These include atrophic scars (commonly seen commonly occurring in those who have acne), hypertrophic scars with a raised look resulting from the overproduction of collagen during the healing process, and keloid scars due to an excessive form of scarring which often grows beyond the original injury site.

Laser therapy is used to smooth a scar, remove the abnormal colour, or flatten the scar.

Stretch marks

Laser stretch mark removal consists of removing striae (stretch marks) via laser resurfacing. While it can't get rid of stretch marks completely, laser removal may help make striae smoother, thereby reducing their appearance.

Say goodbye to shaving, waxing and tweezing as a solution to unwanted body hair.

Laser treatment removes unwanted facial and body hair safely and effectively. Thanks to advances in technology, most people can safely have laser hair removal.

Common treatment locations include legs, armpits, upper lip, chin and the bikini line. However, it's possible to treat unwanted hair in nearly any area, except the eyelid or surrounding area. The best results occur when there is plenty of pigment (melanin) in the hair so white, blonde and grey hair will not respond.

Laser hair removal is also an effective treatment for medical conditions which cause an unwanted increase in hair growth, such as polycystic ovary syndrome.

Removing the unwanted hair often requires a few treatments. Most patients need between 2 to 6 treatments. Afterwards, most patients are free of the unwanted hair for several months. When the hair regrows, most patients see noticeably less hair than before. The hair also tends to be finer and lighter in colour.

Laser tattoo removal is the most effective way of removing unwanted tattoos. Tattoo removal is a multi-treatment process, for a good result most people need between six and 12 treatment sessions, sometimes more if the tattoo includes colours that are difficult to treat. Laser treatments are typically administered at monthly intervals or longer to permit adequate clearing of ink and appropriate skin healing between treatments

The energy from the laser causes the tattoo particles to heat up and break down into tiny fragments. Then over a period of 8-12 weeks the body’s scavenger cells ‘mop up’ these fragments causing the tattoo to gradually fade over time.

Amateur tattoos are normally made using single colour Indian ink and sits close to the top layer of skin; they generally respond more quickly to treatment than professional tattoos.

Professional tattoos are usually multi-coloured tattoos made using a machine and maple ink, they are more difficult to remove completely as the ink tends to be deeper in the skin. Black, blue and red colours are not too difficult to remove, however brighter colours such as green, yellow and purple do not absorb the energy as well and take longer to break down, meaning they may need more treatments.

Active Acne

Laser treatment has become a popular and very effective way to clear up acne. This treatment offers long lasting results as it targets the root physical cause of the condition. Light from the laser helps destroy the bacteria that inflame the skin and causes acne.

Rosacea

Rosacea laser treatment uses heat from wavelengths of light to disintegrate the visible, tiny red blood vessels just underneath the skin. Results are long-lasting and risks and side effects are low.

Telangiectasias and spider veins

Telangiectasias are small blood vessels that are located under the surface of the skin. The vessels may appear red, purple, or blue. The most common places these are seen include the face, upper chest, and neck. Related vessels can be found in the legs, called spider veins.

Laser therapy is minimally invasive and generally the most straightforward treatment for facial telangiectasia and spider veins. Laser ablation can seal the widened blood vessels. This procedure does not cause much pain and the recovery time is short.

Haemangiomas

A haemangioma is a bright red birthmark that shows up at birth or in the first or second week of life. It looks like a rubbery bump and is made up of extra blood vessels in the skin. It can occur anywhere on the body, but most commonly appears on the face, scalp, chest or back. Treating haemangiomas usually isn't necessary because they go away on their own with time. But if a haemangioma affects vision or causes other problems, treatments include medications or laser therapy. Haemangiomas

Cherry Angiomas

Cherry angiomas are small, red bumps on the skin that are caused by broken blood vessels, giving them their red appearance. Not much is known about what causes them or why, but they seem to be most often seen in individuals that are 30 or older, and are commonly seen on the torso, arms, and shoulders.

The most effective way of removing these spots is with Nd:YAG laser treatments. Zapping it with pulses of concentrated laser energy allows the cherry angioma to absorb the wavelengths, generating heat and destroying the blood vessels without damage to the surrounding skin. The number of treatments you may need can depend mostly on the size of the spot and the number of them.

Benign skin lesions are benign growths that are situated on the skin surface. The dermatologist will examine you and determine whether your lesion is benign and if you are a good candidate for laser treatment

Laser excision can remove a large variety of benign lesions: moles, skin tag, warts, actinic keratosis, epidermal naevus, seborrhoic keratosis, milia, xanthelasma palpebrarum, hidradenoma and more.
