PHYSICIST
General Description
- To assure safe and effective delivery of radiation to achieve therapeutic results as prescribed in patient care.
- To perform or supervise technical aspects of procedures necessary to achieve therapeutic medical physics and radiation safety.
- Participate in the equipment specifications for radiotherapy, radiotherapy simulation, radiation measurement equipment and immobilization devices.
- Provide evidence of compliance for radiotherapy, simulation equipment, and radiation detectors, for regulatory and accreditation agency rules and recommendations.
- Measure and characterize medical radiation from radiotherapy, and simulation equipment prior to clinical utilization.
- Perform acceptance testing, evaluation and commissioning of equipments used for external-beam therapy, simulation, treatment-planning system, Record and Verify software, and software related to radiotherapy approve any accessory used for radiotherapy that directly impact on the dose (e.g. bolus, block etc…)
- Develop and/or evaluate, in conjunction with medical practitioners, policies and procedures related to the appropriate therapeutic use of radiation.
- Develop procedures and follow established procedures for use of QA equipment, for QC, for dosimetry, for linear accelerator, for dedicated dosimetric scanner, (detailed procedures including calendar)
- Develop, implement and document a comprehensive Quality Control Program that monitors, evaluates, and optimizes radiation oncology processes
- Provide institutional consultation on program development in radiation oncology
- Be involve in informatic development and direction.
- Plan, submit to the biomedical department and follow up the preventive maintenance of the linear accelerator and the scanner of the oncology department.
- Sign the reports of any intervention or maintenance on radiotherapy dedicated scanner or linear accelerator prior to any resumption of treatment
- Archive and maintain all documentation related to the radiotherapy equipment Archive patient’s treatment plans
- Perform all TPS based radiotherapy treatment planning in accordance with medical prescription
- Do the validation of dosimetry with the radiotherapist/oncologist
- Perform the transfer and preparation of clinical patient file from preparation (TPS) to treatment (RV)
- Do the validation of the final patient clinical treatment file
- Perform periodic quality assurance of radiotherapy treatment units & treatment planning systems.
- Teach and train the OT for QA, patient file dosimetric preparation, patient file dosimetry
- Check and approve OT QA, patient file preparation prior to any treatment
Job Requirements
- Vietnamese national.
- The successful applicant must have graduated Medical Physics and experienced in radiotherapy. Knowledge of Physics sciences, anatomy, biological effects of radiation exposure, radiation safety and skills in computer applications, communication, organization, rigorous, able work independently, sense of responsibilities are essential. Proficiency in English professional working is mandatory.
