Bui Thi Bich Hanh, MD, MSc., Specialist Level II has joined FV Hospital’s Department of Infectious Diseases as a senior consultant. Dr Bich Hanh obtained her bachelor’s degree from Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine in 2010, followed by a master’s degree from Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine in 2015. She completed Specialist Level II training in Infectious and Tropical Diseases at Pham Ngoc Thach University in 2023. In 2018, Dr Bich Hanh completed a fellowship on HIV/AIDS Diagnosis and Treatment at the Tropical Diseases Hospital.
Following 12 years working at the Tropical Diseases Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City and collaborating with Victoria Clinic HCMC from 2017, Dr Bich Hanh officially began working at FV Hospital’s Department of Infectious Diseases in 2022. She is also a lecturer on infectious diseases at Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine.
Dr Bich Hanh’s interest in infectious diseases began during her fourth year of university when she had the opportunity to practice at the Tropical Diseases Hospital. Witnessing the continuous changes in infectious diseases and learning from experienced professionals stimulated her passion for research in this field. Vietnam’s tropical climate contributes to the diversity and unpredictability of infectious diseases, and the increasing antimicrobial resistance observed worldwide is a huge concern for doctors. These factors have motivated Dr Bich Hanh’s interest to challenge herself in this specialty.
At FV Hospital, Dr Bich Hanh focuses on the treatment of diseases such as hepatitis, dengue fever, lung infections, severe infections such as meningitis, cellulitis, and septicaemia, and parasitic infections. She offers a personalised approach to treatment, closely and comprehensively monitoring patients to ensure effective, cost-efficient care.
