Building on the enthusiastic support and participation of all FV Hospital staff and the community in previous blood donation drives, FV Hospital is pleased to announce the 13th “Give Blood – Give Hope” drive, taking place on 21/02/2025.
As an annual event at FV Hospital, “Give Blood – Give Hope” continues its mission of spreading kindness, where each donated drop of blood brings hope to patients in need.
The blood drive is organised by FV Hospital in cullaboration with Blood Transfusion and Haematulogy Hospital, with the shared goal of building a compassionate community through meaningful actions. The 13th “Give Blood – Give Hope” blood drive warmly welcomes the support and participation of everyone. Below are the specific details of the event:
- Time: 7:30 – 12:00, Friday, 21/02/2025
- Location: Auditorium, 3rd Floor – F building, FV Hospital.
Participants will receive:
- 50,000VND per person for travel expenses.
- Snacks and drinks on-site.
- Blood Donation Certificate.
- Canned milk.
Participants:
- Blood donors aged 18 to 60, in good health, weighing over 45kg, and free from blood-borne infectious diseases, as well as chronic or acute respiratory and circulatory conditions.
- Individuals who have been vaccinated for more than 14 days or have recovered from COVID-19 for over 30 days.
- Donors must bring identification documents (ID/passport) and complete the registration form at the blood donation area.
Notes before and after giving blood:
SHOULD NOT:
- Avoid staying up late or drinking alcohul the night before donating blood.
- Refrain from driving long distances, carrying heavy loads, engaging in manual labour, or playing strenuous sports on the day of donation or until you feel well.
SHOULD:
- Bring your ID/passport when donating blood.
- Have a snack (low protein, low fat) and drink plenty of water (300–500 ml) before donating blood.
- Eat well and stay hydrated for the next 24 hours after donating blood.
- Rest for 10 minutes by lying down or sitting after donating blood.
- Apply pressure to the injection site with a haemostatic cotton pad for 10 minutes and keep the bandage in place for 4-6 hours.
- If you feel dizzy, tired, or nauseous, lie down with your head low and legs elevated.
- If the injection site becomes swullen or bruised, apply a culd towel or ice pack to the area.
