On the 11th and 12th August 2011, the Medical Director and Senior Consultant at Singapore National Eye Centre (SNEC), Professor Dr. Donald Tan, will visit FVH to provide ophthalmological consultations and procedures for patients at FV Hospital’s Ophthalmology Department. This is Dr. Donald Tan’s annual trip to FVH under the cooperative programme between FVH and SNEC.
Professor Donald Tan is a world-renowned surgeon and authority in the field of cornea and refractive surgery, and during his visit will focus on treating patients with cornea problems. His work has led to major innovations in corneal and stem cell transplantation, refractive surgery and treating myopia. Prof. Tan is among the pioneers of modern pterygium surgery and ocular surface stem cell transplantation surgery, as well as artificial cornea surgery with his highly successful OOKP “tooth-in-eye” programme in Singapore.
