On 22nd January 2022, FV Hospital and Hong Bang International University (HIU – under Nguyen Hoang Education Group) signed a cooperation agreement for practical training for students and trainees in the health sector. The event took place at Hong Bang International University (Binh Thanh District, Ho Chi Minh City).
Providing high-quality staff for the medical industry
The cooperation program between FV Hospital and HIU effective from 2022 to 2028, FV Hospital will deliver practical training for university and graduate students in the health sector of HIU, starting in February 2022.
Within the framework of the cooperation program, the two parties will organise short-term training courses, cooperate in research and development of new medical techniques and exchange new knowledge. Additionally, FV Hospital can also recruit students and graduates from HIU should vacancies arise.
The interns from HIU will gain practical work-experience, gain rich experience working with our teams of expert, dedicated and skilled doctors, and be up to date with new knowledge about the technology and expertise we have at FV.
With this important cooperation program, the two parties aim to provide high-quality future staff for the medical industry, with graduates that are confident enough to work in international hospitals in Vietnam and abroad.
Medical students of HIU will receive practical training at FV Hospital

Prof Dr Pham Van Linh – Rector of Hong Bang International University shared: “The reason we want to cooperate with FV for practical training of our HIU students is because FV is a reputable hospital that has achieved JCI accreditation twice. HIU students will have the opportunity to learn and improve knowledge through the validated practice at FV Hospital. They will also regularly utilise the most modern medical equipment that FV has at its disposal. As a result, students and graduates can gain confidence to work in international hospitals in Vietnam and abroad.”

Ms Nguyen Thi Le Thu – Marketing and Business Development Director of FV Hospital – believes that the cooperation program will help train medical staff in Vietnam to catch up with international working standards in the near future. “Hong Bang International University is one of the few universities in Vietnam that offers international standard medical training, and even trains doctors for India and many other countries in Asia. FV is the first hospital in the South of Vietnam to receive the JCI quality certification twice and we will again be re-accredited for the third time in 2022. The cooperation program between FV and HIU will help train and provide expert staff with the skills and medical ethics following international standards” Ms Nguyen Thi Le Thu emphasised.

Each year FV Hospital receives about 120 interns from many universities. In order to contribute to the training of staff for the health sector, FV has begun to have the first formal cooperation agreements with prestigious domestic universities such as Hoa Sen University, University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Ton Duc Thang University, Lycée Francais International Marguerite Duras School (LFIMD) andÉcole des hautes études en santé publique (EHESP) School of Public Health. The hospital’s goal is to assist universities and create an environment for future hospital managers, doctors, pharmacists, nurses, technicians, medical secretaries, providing the opportunity for students to practice and work in international standard hospitals like FV, thereby contributing to the improvement in the quality of the domestic health sector, helping to improve the health care capacity for every Vietnamese citizen.
On the HIU side, the university conducts medical training programme entirely in English, which follows the basis of the standard program of the Ministry of Education and Training and the Ministry of Health of Vietnam as well meeting the standards of medical training programs of advanced countries. HIU is considered one of the private universities with the best health sector training in Vietnam with more than 7,000 students and trainees studying and researching. In recent years, the school has actively updated and improved its training programme according to international standards enabling them to receive training for students from all over the world.

The cooperation program between FV Hospital and HIU is the first step in a comprehensive strategic cooperation agreement between FV and Nguyen Hoang Education Group (NHG). The comprehensive cooperation program includes; prioritising the use of each other’s products and services; customers care and forming business development network utilising available strengths and resources; combined communication in the field; contributing to the development of education, cooperating in training staff for both parties; supporting community activities.
