In the first six months of 2024, FV Hospital collaborated with various other hospitals to organise a series of Medical Talks. The aim of this programme is to support and exchange medical expertise, share practical experiences, and enhance the quality of patient care.
Connecting with multiple hospitals to share advanced treatment methods
Depending on the scale and specialised nature of each topic, these medical talks have attracted active participation from doctors and specialists from FV, as well as numerous colleagues in the medical field. The recent discussion topics focused on FV key specialties such as oncology, neurosurgery, general surgery, obstetrics, gynaecology, and pain management. Notably, there have been six prominent seminars that discussed many advanced treatment methods currently being applied at FV.

Kicking off 2024, a medical talk was held on 30th January at Thanh Vu Bac Lieu General Hospital, featuring experts from FV Hospital such as Dr Basma M’Barek (Head of Hy Vong Cancer Care Centre), Dr Nguyen Manh Hung, Specialist Level I, Luong Ngoc Trung, MD, MSc (Head of Thoracic, Vascular & Endovascular Surgery Department), and Dr Pham Hoang Manh (Pain Clinic). This medical talk focused on advanced techniques in the treatment of oncological, thoracic-vascular, neurosurgical spinal disorders, and pain management. It provided an opportunity for both hospitals to enhance their expertise and bring tangible benefits to patients.

FV continued its collaboration by organising two medical talks at Hung Vuong Hospital (16th May) and the Ho Chi Minh City Blood Transfusion Haematology Hospital (5th June). Both medical talks focused on modern cancer treatment techniques applied by FV. The session at Hung Vuong Hospital was attended by over 150 guests, and at the Ho Chi Minh City Blood Transfusion Haematology Hospital there was nearly 30 doctors, Dr Basma M’Barek presented information about advanced radiotherapy techniques for breast and gynaecological cancer treatment. The experiences and detailed discussions that followed provided the participants with new perspectives in this field.

The health talk at Binh Duong General Hospital on 30th May continued to focus on modern techniques in cancer treatment, with participation from over 90 doctors, technicians, and nurses. Alongside updates on new oncological treatment methods and advanced radiation therapy techniques presented by Dr Basma M’Barek, the programme also featured valuable insights for pain management and treatment for cancer patients, delivered by Dr Nguyen Nam Binh (Pain Clinic).

Interesting gatherings combined with medical stories
In early March, in celebration of International Women’s Day and following the success of the first event, FV continued to organise the “Empowering Women for Women” Season 2. This programme connected and honoured female doctors working in oncology, while also providing updates for the medical community about new methods in breast cancer treatment.
The “Empowering Women for Women” Season 2 attracted a large participation of doctors.
The presentations covered important topics concerning breast cancer treatment such as dual HER2 blockade, post-neoadjuvant surgery, genetic testing, circulating tumour DNA (ctDNA), as well as discussions of real clinical cases. The event not only raised awareness about breast cancer and provided information on current treatment options but also encouraged women to take an active role in health care and strive for knowledge to live more fulfilling lives.
Most recently, on 14th June, FV Hospital organised a luncheon with doctors at Tu Du Hospital (Ho Chi Minh City). Dr Basma M’Barek initiated the event with several insights and updates for colleagues on modern radiotherapy techniques for breast and gynaecological cancer treatment. Held in an elegant setting, the meeting drew participation from over 30 doctors who discussed their work experiences, professional stories, and enjoyed a friendly lunch together.

FV Hospital’s medical talks and symposiums have garnered enthusiastic support and active participation from doctors and experts from many hospitals. These events have also attracted numerous colleagues in the medical field who have demonstrated significant interest in the topics FV have highlighted.
Through these organisational efforts, FV Hospital wishes for these programmes to serve as a conduit to facilitate healthcare professionals’ to gain knowledge and exchange treatment experiences. Additionally, FV seeks to promote collaboration among healthcare providers and contribute to enhancing the quality of medical services in Vietnam and provide better healthcare opportunities for the Vietnamese people.
In the near future, FV Hospital will continue to organise similar medical talks and symposiums covering various medical specialities, with collaboration from domestic and international doctors and experts, particularly those from Singapore. With our ability to actively issue Continuous Medical Education (CME) certificates, the academic quality and scale of the upcoming seminars will provide an ideal opportunity for colleagues to exchange knowledge and share experiences.
