PhD. Dr. Do Minh Hung has just joined FV Hospital as Head of the General, Thoracic & Vascular Surgery Department.
FV Hospital’s management believe that Dr. Do Minh Hung, with his professional expertise and experience, will help tremendously to develop the department particularly for colorectal and liver surgery.
Assuming the role of Department Head, PhD. Dr. Do Minh Hung, together with his fellow doctors and staff, will further promote the strengths of the Department.
“I have always been particularly passionate with laparoscopic surgery. Using this method, surgeons need more time, efforts and concentration but it will usually result in fast recovery, less complications, less blooding and less pain for patients. That is truly treatment quality,” shared Dr. Hung.
Dr. Hung chose to pursue general surgery as an act to honor one of his teachers, who has brought about successful treatments to plenty of patients thanks to his talent and medical ethics. Inspired by this teacher, medical student Do Minh Hung decided to embark his journey into the challenging field of general surgery as the teacher did.
Dr. Hung has more than 20 years of experience in general surgery. He graduated as Medical Doctor from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Ho Chi Minh City in 1994, completed a Master of Science in General Surgery in 2004, and in 2015 obtained Ph.D. in Digestive Surgery from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Ho Chi Minh City.
Besides, Dr. Hung was trained on laparoscopic colorectal surgery in Taiwan, at Cho Ray Hospital in HCM City and on the laparoscopic treatment of obesity in the National University Hospital in Singapore. Dr Hung also routinely performs endoscopies.
From 1995, Dr. Hung worked for Binh Dan Hospital (HCM City) in General Surgery (Liver Surgery and Digestive Surgery). In 2010, he was promoted Deputy Head of the Digestive Surgery Department. Apart from his clinical activities, Dr. Hung is teaching Laparoscopic Surgery Centre at Binh Dan Hospital.
With more than 20 years of devotion, Dr. Hung has published many scientific studies on the treatments of general surgery diseases, which are highly appraised by fellow doctors. Many patients who have been treated successfully by Dr. Hung will forever be grateful toward this brilliant doctor.
