The World Health Organization (WHO) launched the campaign World Antimicrobial Awareness Week since 2015. This campaign is supported by countries across the world and recommended programs by WHO are implemented strictly to help fight the issue. However, antimicrobial resistance is still increasing at an alarming level, especially in developing countries such as Vietnam. Currently, WHO still ranks antimicrobial resistance in the top 10 dangers affecting humanity’s health.
Our patient safety policy is always of top importance at FV Hospital. As part of this, for many years we have continued to carry out numerous programs to raise awareness for staff, patients and the community about inappropriate antimicrobial use.
With the theme “United to Preserve Antimicrobials”, the event World Antimicrobial Awareness Week 2020 will be held in the Lobby, F Building from 23rd to 27th November, 2020. Following this theme, FV Hospital wants to provide a playground that will give everyone a chance to learn and share knowledge about antimicrobial resistance. Through numerous activities, we hope to give people a clear understanding about antimicrobial resistance, which is happening in Vietnam as well as all around the world.
During the week-long event, FV Hospital will organise many activities including: Antimicrobials Knowledge Quiz, Booth Games, and World Antimicrobial Awareness Week Facebook Photo Contest. When joining such activities, participants will also have the opportunity to receive prizes from the organisers.
To enter the photo contest and have a chance of winning attractive cash prizes, participants should take a photo with the backdrop of the event and upload the picture to their Facebook with a hash-tag that relates to the event. Winners will be decided based on the amount of engagement they receive from their post. The deadline for joining the photo contest is 12:00pm on 26th November, and the results will be announced on the last day of the event. The prizes on offer include:
- First prize: 2,000,000 VND
- Second prize: 1,500,000 VND
- Third prize: 1,000,000 VND
- Three consolation prizes: 500,000 VND each
