Injury Management and Recovery

From diagnosis to return to sport, a complete and personalised pathway.

Sports injuries most commonly affect the musculoskeletal system: muscles, tendons, ligaments, bones, and connective tissue. At FV, we manage the full pathway from first presentation through to return to competition.

Diagnosis and Treatment

Minor injuries are managed conservatively using RICE protocol: rest, ice, compression, and elevation. More significant injuries may require medical treatment, surgical intervention, or specialist rehabilitation.

Our sports medicine doctors assess and diagnose injuries, manage pain, and coordinate with the relevant specialties when needed, including orthopaedics, ENT, maxillofacial surgery, nutrition, cardiology, and internal medicine. Taping and bracing are used where appropriate to stabilise and protect injured areas during recovery.

Injury Prevention

Our sports medicine doctors, chiropractors, physiotherapists, and trainers work together to build personalised injury prevention plans. Depending on individual needs, these may include tailored training programmes, stretching protocols, correct movement technique, appropriate protective equipment, and lifestyle guidance covering nutrition, hydration, sleep, and full recovery between sessions.

Improving muscle strength, flexibility, coordination, speed, and power is central to reducing injury risk. Our chiropractic team identifies vulnerable areas of the body and addresses them before they become problems. ACC Clinic’s golf-specific injury prevention and performance programme is particularly well regarded among professional and serious amateur golfers.

Rehabilitation Programme

A structured, personalised return-to-sport programme designed for each individual, including post-surgical cases such as ACL reconstruction.
