Sub: Early answers, honest conversations, and a plan that supports the whole family.

Memory changes are frightening, for the person experiencing them and for the people who love them. What families tell us they need most at this stage is not complicated: they want someone to take it seriously, explain it honestly, and not leave them alone with it.

At FV, the first thing we offer is clarity. An accurate assessment that distinguishes normal age-related changes from early cognitive impairment, and early impairment from dementia. We take time with these conversations, because a diagnosis is only useful if it is understood. Our doctors do not move on until you and your family feel clear about what has been found, what it means, and what happens next.

Ongoing Support

When to seek an assessment You do not need to wait until memory loss becomes disruptive. We recommend an early assessment if you or a family member notices any of the following: regularly forgetting recent conversations or events, confusion in familiar places, difficulty finding words, changes in mood or personality, or simply a sense that something has shifted. Earlier assessment means earlier answers, and in many cases, earlier intervention that makes a real difference to how the condition progresses.
