Ambulatory Care

Admission Process

A guide to the documents and steps required for hospital admission and treatment.

Your anaesthetist will review your medical history, test results, and overall health condition to prepare a personalised and safer anaesthetic plan. The anaesthesia consultation must take place 24-48h before your procedure, depending on your general health condition and on the type of procedure you will undergo.

You will receive clear guidance regarding medications, diet, fasting requirements, and other important instructions before your procedure or surgery.

The consultation gives you the opportunity to better understand the anaesthesia process, helping reduce anxiety and feel more reassured before treatment.

The consultation can be done at the hospital, or, to enhance patient convenience and save valuable time, FV also offers Teleconsultation for Pre-Anaesthetic Assessment — a modern solution that helps you prepare for surgery without the need to travel to the hospital.

Benefits of Teleconsultation for Pre-Anaesthetic Assessment

Save Time and Travel

Complete this important pre-operative assessment from the comfort of your home, without multiple hospital visits before surgery.

Shorter Waiting Time, Smoother Same-Day Treatment Experience

Teleconsultation for pre-anaesthetic assessment helps streamline admission and treatment processes at FV, making your same-day care experience faster and more convenient.

Before your procedure or surgery, we recommend that you:

  • Stop smoking and avoid alcohol for at least 24 hours before the procedure.
  • Strictly follow your doctor’s instructions, including fasting for at least 6 hours before the procedure if required. Food remaining in the stomach may increase risks during anaesthesia.
  • Arrange for a family member or companion to accompany you back home and support you during the first 24 hours after surgery. Patients are advised not to drive after receiving anaesthesia or sedation.
  • Take a shower at home either the evening before or the morning of your procedure.
  • Avoid wearing make-up or nail polish, as this helps doctors monitor your vital signs more accurately through skin and nail colour.
  • Prepare all necessary documents, including your ID card or passport, insurance card, and any current medications or prescriptions you are using.

On the day of your scheduled admission, please proceed to the Admission Desk located in the lobby of Building F to complete registration, payment of deposit, and preparation for your procedure or surgery.
