Safe Discharge Criteria At FV we use the post-anaesthesia discharge scoring system (PADSS). Your doctor will allow discharge once your condition has recovered appropriately and the following criteria are met: Vital signs such as blood pressure and heart rate are stable. Pain is well controlled and you feel comfortable. You do not have surgical bleeding You feel orientated You are able to walk gently without nausea or dizziness. Ensure you have a competent adult to accompany you back home. Important advice for the first 24 hours after discharge Even if you feel fully awake, the effects of anaesthesia or sedation may still affect your reflexes and judgement. Do Not: Drive yourself Operate machinery Consume alcohol Prioritise Rest: Allow your body adequate rest to support a smooth and natural recovery process Have questions?
