Admission Process

A Step-by-Step Guide to Inpatient Admission and Preparing for Your Hospital Stay.

Before Admission

Once your doctor has recommended hospitalization and you have agreed to be admitted for treatment, our staff will escort you to meet the Admission Officer at the lobby of Building F.

The admission can be planned mostly for surgical procedures and can be immediate or unplanned for medical issues.

The admission can be planned mostly for surgical procedures and can be immediate or unplanned for medical issues. In any situation, you will be escorted by our Patient Service Clerk or Hospital Navigator to the Admission Officer who will:

  • Review your medical records and provide all necessary information related to your hospital stay, including:
    Expected admission and discharge dates
    The doctor in charge of your treatment
    Items provided by the hospital and personal belongings you should bring
    Available inpatient room types
    Visiting regulations and hours
    Estimated treatment and room
    Insurance coverage and related benefits (if applicable)
  • Explain and obtain your consent for hospitalization
  • Guide you to your room if you need to be admitted right away or in planned admission, they will:
    Guide you to deposit to secure Operation Room and Surgeon reservation (vnd 3,000,000)
    Issue an admission appointment card

One day prior to your scheduled admission date, the Admission Officer will contact you to remind you of your admission appointment.

On the Day of Planned Admission

Please proceed to the Admission Desk at the Main Lobby or to Reception of Emergency Department as guided by Admission Officer and written on Admission Appointment Card F to complete the admission procedures:

  • You will be required to deposit: Pay 100% of total estimated cost if you do not have insurance or if you are insured by your insurance did not guarantee to pay for you
  • If you are insured and your insurance already guaranteed to pay your bill, you are not required to deposit for estimated medical expenses. You may only be asked deposit for any cost differences or services not covered by your insurance
  • Then our staff will take you to the room where.

In the Ward

  • Our nursing staff will welcome you with the room orientation
    Introduce you to the room amenities/ facility
    Provide you with a personal care kit
    Guide you to use the safe, wardrobe, nursing call system, visiting regulations, isolation rules
    Take care of your personal belongings etc…
  • Room upgrade can be done subject to availability, suitability of your medical conditions and additional payment consent.

Important Notes for Admission

Below is some helpful information regarding items provided by the hospital and items you should or should not bring with you.

Items provided in the treatment room

  • Clean, hospital clothing
  • Bed linen, blankets, and towels for the duration of your stay
  • Slippers, soap, shampoo, toothbrush, toothpaste, and a comb

Items you need to bring

  • National ID card or passport
  • Detailed Health Insurance Information.
  • Personal clothing and personal electronic devices
  • All medications and prescriptions you are currently using. Our doctor will review them and let you know which medication you can or cannot continue to use during hospital stay.

Items to bring for pediatric patients

  • Diapers (if needed)
  • Sleepwear and clothes
  • Child’s favorite toy or stuffed animal for comfort but please do not bring noise-making toys.
  • Books, coloring books, laptop, iPad… for entertainment
  • Fresh milk or formula for bottle-fed children (hospital provides milk for a fee)

FV Hospital is not responsible for items not deposited in the safe during the patient’s stay. You should leave valuable items at home or have your relatives keep them. If you wish to deposit valuables in the safe, please contact the nurse upon admission.

Postponing or Cancelling Your Hospital Admission

To postpone or cancel planned admission, please notify our admission officer at least 02 working days in advance.
