Overview Spanning 26 lessons across 960 sessions, the programme is built on a competency-based approach aligned with the Basic Standards for Vietnamese Nurses. It covers basic nursing skills, legal regulations, professional ethics, patient safety and clinical communication across three core areas: Knowledge Understand and explain the nursing process. Present regulations for managing and utilizing resources for patient care. Identify preventive standards in patient care and safety measures. Recognize risky behaviors and ensure patient safety. Assess the need for health counseling and education for patients and families. Understand legal regulations related to nursing practice in hospitals. Skill Apply the nursing process and evidence-based practices in patient care Perform basic nursing techniques with safety and efficiency. Detect and respond to abnormal conditions such as shock or cardiac arrest, and work effectively with the medical team in emergencies. Follow hospital infection control procedures and patient safety regulations. Communicate professionally with patients, families, and healthcare team members, including handling special patient needs (e.g., unconscious, psychiatric, hearing/visually impaired). Maintain accurate medical records and operate specialized equipment safely. Collaborate within teams and use information technology effectively in patient care. Attitude Demonstrate positive thinking and professionalism in patient care. Understand the role of nurses in patient advocacy and protection. Adhere to the Ministry of Health’s guidelines and professional ethics. Commit to continuous learning and personal development. Display qualities such as diligence, honesty, respect, and cooperation while ensuring patient safety Admission Process Overview FV Hospital recruits 10 newly graduated nurses for the 6-month Practice Programme each year. Eligibility: Newly graduated Vietnamese nurses holding a bachelor’s degree in nursing who have not yet obtained a nurse practitioner licence (as per the Law on Medical Examination and Treatment 2023) and who wish to voluntarily enrol in the programme. Training fee: Successful candidates receive a full scholarship and allowance for the duration of the programme. Evaluation of medical examination and treatment skills upon completion of emergency intensive care practice. Chapter 2: Practicing 20 weeks in medical examination and treatment in clinical departments Practice in clinical departments such as Outpatient Departments, Cardiology, General Internal Medicine, and General Surgery. Skill assessment upon completion of each department’s practice Graduation examination (both theoretical and practical) integrated into the total duration of medical examination and treatment practice. Chapter 3: Graduation Examination An integrated theoretical and practical examination is conducted as part of the overall training program.
