Advanced ENT Treatments

Sub: Minimally invasive techniques that reduce pain, speed recovery, and deliver lasting results for complex ENT conditions.

The ENT team at FV applies the most advanced surgical and interventional techniques available, from delicate ear microsurgery to endoscopic sinus procedures and head and neck oncology. Treatment strategy always begins with the patient and their condition at the centre. Where minimally invasive approaches can achieve the same result as open surgery, they are always preferred.

Endoscopic Sinus Surgery (FESS)

For chronic sinusitis and nasal polyps unresponsive to medication, Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery uses a thin endoscope and precision micro-instruments to widen obstructed sinus drainage pathways while preserving healthy anatomy. Minimal scarring, fast recovery, and the gold standard for modern sinus surgery.

Ear Microsurgery and Skull Base Surgery

For delicate middle ear structures, including tympanoplasty and mastoid surgery, or skull base tumour surgery, our surgeons operate under the Carl Zeiss S88 surgical microscope with absolute precision. This approach minimises the risk of nerve and vascular injury while optimising hearing function and post-surgical preservation.

Cochlear Implant Surgery

For patients with severe to profound hearing loss where hearing aids no longer provide adequate benefit, cochlear implantation is the most advanced hearing restoration available. A complex electronic device is placed into the inner ear to directly stimulate the auditory nerve, offering hearing close to natural and dramatically improving quality of life. FV is a pioneer in cochlear implant surgery in Vietnam.

Intratympanic Injection for Sudden Deafness

Corticosteroids are delivered directly into the middle ear, concentrating the anti-inflammatory effect exactly where it is needed. Performed as an outpatient procedure, helping patients achieve rapid hearing restoration with minimal hospitalisation.

Balloon Dilation of the Eustachian Tube

For recurring Eustachian tube blockage causing ear fullness, tinnitus, or repeated infections, endoscopic balloon dilation gently widens the tube’s opening. A minimally invasive outpatient procedure with lasting results.

Low-Temperature Tonsillectomy and Adenoidectomy

Using the Revolix Laser and Harmonic Scalpel, we cut and coagulate simultaneously at low temperature or via ultrasonic waves, significantly reducing tissue damage, post-operative pain, bleeding risk, and recovery time to just a few days.

Head and Neck Cancer Treatment

Comprehensive treatment for cancers of the larynx, nasopharynx, thyroid, and oropharynx through a multidisciplinary approach: radical surgical resection using the Harmonic Scalpel, combined with individualised radiotherapy and chemotherapy coordinated with the oncology team. For patients requiring post-surgical radiotherapy, our ENT team works closely with oncology specialists to manage side effects including oral mucositis, dry mouth, and skin changes, protecting quality of life throughout treatment.

Head and Neck Cancer Screening with NBI Endoscopy

Narrow Band Imaging (NBI) endoscopy enhances contrast between healthy tissue and early lesions, enabling earlier and more accurate detection of head and neck cancers before they are visible on standard endoscopy.

Fine Needle Aspiration (FNA) for Head and Neck Lumps

For superficial lumps or masses in the head and neck, FNA under ultrasound guidance retrieves tissue for microscopic analysis, distinguishing inflammation, infection, benign tumour, or malignancy. In many cases this avoids the need for open surgical biopsy.
