Multidisciplinary Care

When it comes to complex chest and lung conditions – especially cancer – the best outcomes come from the right specialists working together, at the right time, with a shared plan.

How Complex Cases Are Reviewed at FV

FV’s Thoracic Surgery department is equipped to manage the full spectrum of thoracic conditions, from routine cases to the most complex surgical presentations. For exceptional cases that benefit from an additional international perspective, FV works in partnership with O2 Healthcare Group (Singapore), giving our team access to Dr Su Jang Wen, a Singapore-based specialist in minimally invasive thoracic surgery.

This means that when a second expert opinion adds genuine value — whether for surgical planning, multidisciplinary review, or a highly specialised procedure — that expertise is available to our patients here in Vietnam, without the cost or disruption of travelling abroad.

Collaboration with Hy Vong Cancer Centre

For patients with lung, thymic, or oesophageal cancer, our thoracic surgeons work in close collaboration with the oncology team at FV’s Hy Vong Cancer Centre.

This partnership ensures that adjunct therapies – chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and immunotherapy – are planned and timed precisely around your surgery, not added as an afterthought. Accurate staging drives every decision, and the goal throughout is not just treatment, but quality of life.

Not Sure About Your Diagnosis? Get a Second Opinion

Before committing to surgery, chemotherapy, or a change in treatment, some patients want to be certain they have the full picture. That is a reasonable and important step – and we support it.

FV’s second opinion service is available to patients who:

  • Have a chest or lung diagnosis but want independent confirmation
  • Have been recommended surgery, chemotherapy, or radiotherapy and want to consider their options carefully
  • Are currently in treatment but not seeing the results they expected
  • Want their case reviewed by a multidisciplinary panel that includes international specialists

Our expert panel will review your complete medical records — including pathology reports, imaging, and your full treatment history — and provide a clear, thorough assessment to help you make an informed decision.

If travelling to the hospital is not possible, an initial telemedicine consultation is available as a first step.
